DEBUT BOOK
bY BOJAN KOPRIVICA

How can a lifetime be distilled into twelve short stories?

A Year and A Lifetime attempts to address this question not once, but twice.

In A Year, Koprivica takes us on a journey through a realm both real and imagined, guiding us through twelve calendar months, each marked by a distinct story. We traverse the enchanted forests of Uganda and the eternal ice of Antarctica, cross the battlefields of the Balkans and sail the waves of the Mediterranean Sea. At each stop, he infuses life into his characters and allows them to grapple with the fundamental questions of existence: life and death, hope and loss, love and longing.

In the second part, another set of twelve stories seeks to answer these same questions. A Lifetime provides an intimate introspection into what motivated Koprivica to write this book and, indeed, to write at all. From the public execution of his biological grandmother to the hundredth birthday of his adoptive one, he candidly shares his own struggles with life and death, as well as his journey toward healing and cherishing memories.

about the author

Bojan writes in English, lives in German, loves in Spanish, and remembers in Croatian, his many languages more the result of life's funny twists than a meticulously planned education.

He has spent most of his professional life as a photonics engineer. But he has also worked as a journalist, a baker, a publisher, a baseball analyst, an Olympic photographer, a waiter, a tennis coach, a crossword constructor, and now, a book author.
