IDL 2024-2026

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT

1. Legal Scope

  • This Collective Bargaining Agreement (in further text “CBA”) regulates the business conduct in International Dynasty League (in further text “IDL”)

  • This CBA is valid from March 1st 2015, pending no more than 4 (four) League Owners (in further text “Owners”) officially object to it before said date

  • This CBA is valid until December 31st 2026

  • This CBA is to be replaced with the new CBA, contents of which must be presented to the IDL no later than June 30th 2026

  • For any amendments to this CBA during its legal timeframe , there must be a support of at least 8 Owners

  • For any changes to this CBA during its legal timeframe , there must be a support of at least 10 Owners and an approval by the League Commissioner (in further text “Commissioner”)

2. League Setup

  • IDL is a fantasy baseball league and comprises of 12 (twelve) Teams, divided in two Divisions. The teams are appointed to the divisions through a pre-draft draw, except for the top four teams from the previous year. These teams are division heads; teams ranked #1 and #4 are placed in one division, teams ranked #2 and #3 in the other. The ranking of the teams is determined by last year’s CBS Power Rank, in case of a tie CBS Breakdown is used as a tie-breaker.

  • IDL is an auction league

  • IDL is a keepers league

  • IDL is a Head to Head (in further text “H2H”) league

  • IDL is played with an unbalanced schedule, where each team will face its division opponents three times. There will be two rounds of matchups within the same division, then one round of interleague play and then one final round within the division.

  • IDL is a play-off league

  • IDL uses the complete pool of MLB players

  • IDL uses the complete pool of MiLB players

  • There will be no league expansion during this CBA

  • If an Owner leaves the IDL, a replacement will be found. The new owner will have a choice of either inheriting the roster the previous owner leaves or assembling the core of the team by naming his keepers from the pool of free agents prior to the draft, according to IDL keepers rules (see 7.2. Keepers)

3. Scoring

  • IDL values following offensive categories:
    1. Batting Average (AVG)
    2. On Base Percentage (OBP)
    3. Slugging Percentage (SLG)
    4. Runs (R)
    5. Runs Batted In (RBI)
    6. Home Runs (HR)
    7. Stolen Bases – Caught Stealing (SB-CS)
    8. Strikeouts (KO)

  • IDL values following pitching categories:
    1. Earned Run Average (ERA)
    2. Walks and Hits per Innings Pitched (WHIP)
    3. Wins (W)
    4. Saves Plus Holds (SVH)
    5. Strikeouts (K)

    6. Strikeouts per Nine (Kp9IP)
    7. Losses (L)
    8. Quality Starts (QS)

  • In case a H2H matchup ends in a 8.5 to 8.5 tie, the winner of the matchup is the team with a better ERA

3.1. Playoff participation and ranking

  • First three teams from each division will advance to the playoffs. Winner of each division will have a bye-week. #2 and #3 will face off in divisional semi-final. The winners will face the number #1 seed in the Divisional Finals, and finally each league’s champion in the League Finals. The ranking of the teams will be determined by:

    1. Overall record

    2. In case two or more teams are tied for the overall record, division record is looked at next.

    3. In case two or more teams are tied for the division record, head to head record is looked at next. In case of a more than a two-way tie, only overall head to head record is looked at and only one iteration is used.

    4. In case two or more teams are tied for the head to head record, CBS Breakdown is looked at next.

    5. In case two or more teams are tied for the CBS Breakdown, Team ERA is looked at next.

EXAMPLE

  1. At the end of the season Samerberg Wolves, Dust Devils, Silver State, Dirty Ducks and Skywalkers all have 11:11 record and are tied for places 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

  2. Samerberg Wolves have division record 9:6; Dust Devils, Dirty Ducks and Skywalkers 8:7; Silver State 7:8. Samerberg Wolves are 2nd, Silver State is 6th, the remaining three teams are still tied for places 3 through 5.

  3. Dust Devils have 2:1 H2H record versus Dirty Ducks. Dust Devils have 3:0 H2H record versus Desert Dogs. Dirty Ducks have 1:2 H2H record versus Desert Dogs. Overall H2H records are:
    Dust Devils 5:1 (3:0 +2:1) – Place 3
    Skywalkers 2:4 (0:3 + 2:1) – Tied for place 4,5
    Dirty Ducks 2:4 (1:2 + 1:2) – Tied for place 4,5
    * There will be no second iteration of H2H record tie-breaker, meaning that the H2H record between Skywalkers and Dirty Ducks will not be looked at again.

  4. Skywalkers have 148:138 breakdown. Dirty Ducks have 127:159 breakdown. Desert Dogs are 4th, Dirty Ducks are 5th.

4. Rosters

  • Rosters must be legal at all time, including the pre-season (after the draft). Failing to do so within the season results in loss of accumulated points on all days the roster was illegal. Failing to do so in the pre-season will not be tolerated and will result with Commissioner issuing 10$ FAAB penalties.

  • Each Owner must field a team with following players

  • Catcher (C) - 1 Player

  • A player can receive a MC if he is drafted while in Minor League Baseball

  • A player can receive a MC if he is acquired through FAAB while in Minor League Baseball

  • Only players without prior MLB experience are eligible (0 PA, 0 IP in MLB)

  • Only players who played in Minor League Baseball are eligible

  • A player can be held on MC indefinitely

  • MC terminates by either a drop or a promotion to Initial Contract (IC)

  • While on MC, a player is not allowed to accumulate stats on the active roster

  • While on MC, a player is allowed to be on active roster without losing the MC, as long as he doesn’t accumulate any stats for the Owner

  • MC status is kept in case a player is kept for the next year, unless the Owner decides to promote him

  • A player with MC with more than

    • 30 at bats or

    • 50 IP

    • or is on an active MLB roster for more than 45 days

will receive an automatic $1 premium, If the player is not activated prior to the Opening Day of the upcoming season.

  • A player with MC cannot be placed on a DL

  • There is no limit on the number of MC contracts a team can have. However, only 8 (eight) players with MC can be placed on the Minors roster and the remaining must not be active in the MLB

  • Status of MC is not affected by any trades

  • If a player who has currently a RC-2 contract is placed in the minors by his MLB team, the IDL-Manager can transfer his RC-2 contract into a MC-Opt contract. The MC-Opt contract is equal to an MC contract in all rights and obligations except for the promotion. An MC-Opt player who is promoted will receive an RC-1 contract not an RC-2 contract. When the RC-2 contract will be turned into an MC-Opt contract the salary will increase by $3.

5.3. Initial Contract (IC)

  • A player can receive an IC if he is drafted while in Major League Baseball

  • A player can receive an IC if he is acquired through FAAB  while in Major League Baseball

  • A player can receive an IC if he is promoted from an MC

  • Player’s salary during the MC is determined by the draft / FAAB price

  • If a player is promoted from MC his salary remains the one he had during the MC

  • he duration of IC is 2 (two) years

  • First year always counts as a full year

  • IC terminates either by drop, expiration or Early Contract Extension (ECE)

  • Status of IC is not affected by any trades

5.4. Early Contract Extension (ECE)

  • A player can receive an ECE if following criteria is met:
    1. The player is currently on IC
    2. No other players on the same team have received an ECE in the current year
    3. The request for the ECE is sent to the Commissioner between 00:01 AM on January 1st and 11:59 PM on the day communicated by the Commissioners panel.
    4. The immediate salary increase does not violate the team Salary Cap

  • The minimum duration of ECE is 3 (three) years, there is no maximum duration

  • ECE starts immediately and it can only be signed until the trade deadline

  • First year counts as a full year

  • All ECE are guaranteed contracts and the players cannot be dropped during the entire duration of the contract

  • Player’s salary during the ECE is determined by following:
    1. If the ECE is signed no later than 11:59 PM on August 8th in the first year of Initial Contract:
IC Salary + ECE Number of Years * $3
    2. If the ECE is signed between 00:01 AM on January 1st and 11:59 PM on Trade Deadline Day in the second year of Initial Contract:
IC Salary + ECE Number of Years * $4

  • Status of ECE is not affected by any trades

EXAMPLE

Fernando Tatis Jr. receives 3-year ECE on July 3rd 2021, the first year of his contract. His new salary is:

IC Salary ($7) + ECE Number of Years (3) * $3 = $16

His contract runs through the rest of 2021, 2022 and 2023. His new salary is effective immediately. He cannot be dropped until the end of 2023.

Jason Kipnis is extended for 4 years on May 22nd 2021, the second year of his IC. His new salary is:

IC Salary ($2) + ECE Number of Years (4) * $4 = $18

His contract runs through the rest of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. His new salary is effective immediately. He cannot be dropped until the end of 2024.

5.5. Regular Contract Extension (RCE)

  • A player can receive a Regular Contract Extension after his IC expires

  • Minimum duration of RCE is 1 (one) year

  • There is no maximum duration

  • If RCE duration is 2 (two) years or more, the contract is guaranteed

  • The request for RCE must be sent to Commissioner after the Market Value (CBS Mixed Auction Value) for the next year is determined, but prior to the date the Commissioner sets in advance of the Draft (Keeper Deadline)

  • Players with the RCE cannot be dropped before the Draft, they must be used as Keepers. After the Draft the players with RCE of 1 year can be dropped.

  • Player’s salary during RCE is calculated as following:
MV (Market Value) + RCE Number of Years * $2

EXAMPLE

Juan Soto receives 1-year RCE March 5th 2021, after his Initial Contract expires. His new salary is:

MV* ($24) + RCE Number of Years (1) * $2 = $26

His contract runs through the rest of 2021. He can be dropped anytime.

Rafael Devers receives 3-year RCE March 7th 2021, after his Initial Contract expires. His new salary is:

MV* ($13) + RCE Number of Years (3) * $2 = $19

His contract runs through the rest of 2021, 2022 and 2023. He cannot be dropped until the end of 2023.

* Hypothetical Values

5.6. Split Contracts

  • When trading for a player with a guaranteed contract (ECE or RCE longer than 1 year) two managers can decide to split the cost of the contract

  • The sum of total obligations must equal player’s guaranteed salary

  • The split may differ annually for multi-year obligations

  • The team that trades such player away will have budget and SC adjusted for the amount it still pays for the departed player

EXAMPLE

San Quentin Jumbo Shrimps and Silver State agree to a trade that sends Trevor Story to Silver State in exchange for Archie Bradley and Dustin May. Two managers also decided to split Trevor Story’s salary costs ($49/year) as following:

In 2021 San Quentin Jumbo Shrimps will pay for $40, Silver State for $9. San Quentin Jumbo Shrimps Salary Cap for 2021 is $195, Draft Budget is $180

In 2022 San Quentin Jumbo Shrimps will pay for $15, Silver State for $34. San Quentin Jumbo Shrimps Salary Cap for 2022 is $220, Draft Budget is $205

  • Whatever DB remains unused will be transferred into team’s Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB)

  • Draft Budget can be used in trades

6.3. Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB)

  • FAAB is used to bid on Free Agents during the season

  • FAAB is augmented by whatever remains unused from the team’s Draft Budget

  • FAAB can be used in trades

  • All players, including injured ones and the ones on the Minors Roster count against the SC

7. Transactions

7.1. Draft

  • The sum of all keepers’ salaries for the next year (active plus minors) must not exceed $100

  • If a player on DL is kept, he counts against Keepers limits, but can be placed on DL during draft if he qualifies for a DL Spot as according to the rules laid out in paragraph 7.6.

  • Once a player is selected as a Keeper, he cannot be dropped between the Keeper Deadline and the Draft Day

7.3. Trades

  • Rosters will be expanded to 9 Minors Slots for the draft, kept like this until the season’s end and returned to 8 for the start of next season.

  • If a player drafted is not available in CBS, the commissioners will note the draft pick, but will not create a fake CBS profile for the player. When CBS creates the player, the Manager who made the draft pick will add that player through normal Add/Drop procedure.

  • If the player is not created in CBS until the Trading Deadline (for example the player decides to go to college instead), the Manager loses that pick.

  • The draft will be conducted through WhatsApp.

  • If a Manager cannot partake in Draft, he will supply the numerated list of his preferred picks (at least as long as the Manager’s draft order) to one of the Commissioners and the highest available pick will be made for him.
